Dridroad notes

A small collection of notes about keeping personal projects understandable.

Start with a recovery plan

Keep a copy of a working configuration before changing it. A useful backup has a date, a clear purpose, and a documented way to restore it.

Separate the moving parts

Give every service one job. Record its inputs, outputs, and dependencies. When something stops working, check one boundary at a time.

Measure before tuning

Record a baseline and change one parameter at a time. A small repeatable test is more useful than a large collection of unverified adjustments.
